YouTube Content ID

Hi,
If you’ve just received a notice or notification from YouTube claiming that your video contains content that is owned or licensed by Tunewave Label, this page is made for you. Please read the Q&A below, which we hope will clarify your doubts.

Why did I receive a notification saying Tunewave Label is claiming my song on YouTube?

If you upload a video on YouTube and receive a «copyright notification», it means you’ve received what is officially called a Copyright Claim.

This happens because your video contains content that is owned or licensed by one of the artists, record labels, or distribution partners working with Tunewave Label. We provide the technology and platform for music distribution worldwide, including YouTube Content ID, but we do not own or license the content ourselves.

What exactly is YouTube Content ID?

YouTube Content ID is a system that allows copyright owners to identify and manage their content on YouTube. All videos uploaded to YouTube are scanned against a database of files submitted by content owners. It works like a digital fingerprint that ensures the right ownership allocation of music and allows rights holders to decide whether to track, monetize, or block the content.

What’s a Content ID Claim?

When you upload a video containing copyrighted audio, YouTube automatically generates a claim if the audio matches a recording delivered to Content ID. Rights owners can choose whether their music should be monetized, tracked, or blocked on YouTube.

Why did I receive a Copyright Claim from Tunewave Label?

Because one of our partner labels or distributors delivered their content to YouTube through Tunewave Label’s platform. You’ll usually see the claim in this format:

[Tunewave Label] on behalf of [Record Label]

The second name ([Record Label]) is the company or artist who owns the content. They are responsible for the claim, while Tunewave only acts as the technology provider.

What can I do next?

You own 100% of the rights – If the content is yours, the claim may be a mistake. You can dispute it with proof of ownership.

You used third-party music – If you don’t own the rights, the claim is valid. You may not be able to monetize the video.

You have an agreement with the rights holder – Contact the label or distributor that issued the claim and provide your agreement or license.

Manage it in YouTube Studio – From your dashboard, you can choose to:
